Planning Your Arches National Park Wedding: A Guide to the Perfect Desert Ceremony

If you’re picturing an unforgettable wedding surrounded by epic views and natural beauty, an Arches National Park wedding is the way to go. With its incredible red rock formations, sweeping desert landscapes, and vibrant skies, Arches offers a setting that will make your ceremony feel like it’s straight out of a dream. Whether you’re going for something laid-back or a bit more adventurous, here’s everything you need to know about planning your perfect desert wedding.

Why Choose Arches National Park?

Arches is simply one of the most stunning places on Earth. With over 2,000 natural stone arches and dramatic rock formations, it’s the kind of place that makes you stop and just take it all in. The landscape here is jaw-droppingly beautiful, and the best part? It’s all there for you to experience on your wedding day. No elaborate decorations needed—nature already provides the perfect backdrop. It’s a place where the scenery speaks for itself and makes your day even more special.

When Is the Best Time to Have Your Arches National Park Wedding?

Arches is beautiful year-round, but the best times for a wedding are spring (April to early June) and fall (September to early November). These months offer cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, which means you can enjoy the park in all its glory without having to fight for space or sweat through the ceremony. Can I actually let you in on a secret… my favorite elopements I have ever photographed in the area have been in Jan. and Feb…. but don’t tell people that.

For a more intimate experience, consider a sunrise wedding. The soft morning light creates the perfect glow for your photos, and you’ll have the park more to yourself. Plus, the early hour means a peaceful, calm atmosphere to kick off your day.

Do You Need a Permit for Your Wedding in Arches National Park?

Yes, you’ll need a special use permit to hold a wedding in Arches. But don’t worry—it’s a straightforward process. You’ll need to apply for the permit at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance, and the cost is $185 as of Feb. 2025 . It’s worth it to be able to get married in such an iconic location!

Keep in mind that you can’t bring in large structures like tents or wedding arches, and amplified music is not allowed.
